Goodbye Verizon

What did you do to us, Verizon?

I have been a loyal Verizon landline, internet and wireless customer for years.  I was a landline customer when the company was GTE.  When I decided to publish a website on the history and genealogy of Chester Township, I chose to go with a personal website through Verizon.   After all, Verizon wouldn’t be going out of business like many website providers.  Also, Verizon had an easy to use site building tool, Trellix SiteBuilder.

Over the next several years my site grew to be over 250 pages long.  The site won two state awards in Michigan.  Everything was going smoothly.

Then Verizon did the unimaginable.  It sold out all of its Michigan (and several other states) landline and internet services to Frontier Communications.  The biggest problem with this is that Verizon didn’t include several of its extras (like the SiteBuilder) in the package.  Shame on you Verizon.
